The United States Senate overwhelmingly voted in support of the legislation to extend the Victim Compensation Fund until 2092 and to provide funds throughout its existence. President Trump is expected to sign the final legislation this Friday. Assuming all goes as planned and the new law goes into effect, we anticipate that the Special Master of the Fund may issue revised regulations. We anticipate that any reductions in awards over the last six months made due to a reduction of availability of funds will be reversed.
